Walk a Marathon in 30 Days! (26.2 miles)

I started using MapMyWalk.com within the last week again. I found the website about a year ago, but at the time I did not use it. I found recent goals and one was to Walk a Marathon in 30 Days which is equivalent to 26.2 miles. Since it says walking, it will not count other exercises such as bike riding. As another incentive since it does not count our recent bike riding activity, I also did a goal to exercise 20 out of 30 days. So far, we have been able to do 3 days within the past 7 days. I was also excited to see my total steps today were over 11,000!! I try to wear my pedometer when I go to a school because I walk a decent amount. According to its estimations between walking at school and walking to the playground I walked about 4.6 miles today!

Working on altered clipboard

I started yesterday on altering this clipboard. I did one where I just covered it in some scrapbook paper...but I have been carrying it around for my grocery list and coupons and I think I keep thinking I could do so much better! Here's the before picture:
So far, I have the front and back of the clipboard painted purple using Making Memories Grapevine (purple) paint. Then I plan to use Coordinates Collections' May Soda Pop kit to alter it some more. I have not quite decided how it will look since I am letting the paint dry on the front side right now. Stay tuned for the final project!

World of Warcraft

Since school is winding down and I will have a little more free time on my hands, I decided I would play World of Warcraft with Jeff again. This is my primary character, Evaelyn. She is a level 50 Blood Elf Mage.

swagbucks.com is a google-powered search engine that lets you "win" Swag Bucks when you do searches on the internet through their website. If you are like the average person, you probably do regular searches online anyways, so why not get free stuff while you're at it?! I already have 32 Swag Bucks and have not been a member long. There are a number of different gift cards and prizes in different amounts:

$5 Amazon.com gift card = 45 Swag Bucks
$10 Barnes & Noble gift card = 115 Swag Bucks
$10 Starbucks gift card = 130 Swag Bucks
$20 Target e-gift card = 220 Swag Bucks
$25 Fandango e-gift card = 450 Swag Bucks

It might seem like a lot of swag bucks are needed to redeem prizes, but you can also find codes on sites such as facebook.com, the swagbucks blog or twitter. Visit swagbucks.com for all of the details and start earning!!! Click on the banner on this blog and let me know what you think of it!

Pop-Tarts on sale at Target

Okay, so Jeff and I hardly buy Pop-Tarts for the boys anymore because they would eat them like candy. However, they are on sale at Target this week. Between coupons, in store coupons, and the sale price...I decided I should stock up since summer was coming and they would make easy snacks.

Pop Tarts 12ct $2.33 ea
Buy (5) get $5 Gift Card
-$1/2 Pop Tarts RP 4/05
-.50/1 Pop Tarts Target printable
(Buy 5, use (2) -$1/2 and (5) -.50/1 makes it 0.43¢ ea after gift cards)

Oh, the cashier was unsure if I could use all 5 of the Target coupons. She called a manager to make sure and he verified I could as long as I had the items to match the coupons! I was so excited to hear those words coming from one of the managers!!

Coordinates Collections - May 2009 1-Page Sketch: Happy Birthday

I created this layout using Coordinates Collections' March 2009 Sky kit. Jakob attended this birthday party on March 31, 2009 at Going Bonkers. Many birthday parties this year have been at Going Bonkers. We are done with birthday parties for a while now. All of them seem to have birthdays around the same time at his school! The layout is designed using the May 2009 1-Page Sketch from Coordinates Collections. I really liked using this sketch this month because it was a quick and easy sketch. It worked perfect for what I had remaining of the Sky kit to use for a girl's birthday party.

More California plans

Today, I worked on some more of our travel plans to California. Between talking to Mom and a few email communications from my brother and girlfriend, we were able to decide on our hotels. Our first two days are planned at Disneyland and then we will head down to visit Randy and Nikki in the San Diego area. Based on a couple emails Randy sent, Mom and I contemplated which hotel to reserve and finally came to a decision. Tonight, I worked on finding a rental car that was not too expensive. We found one and have it reserved. I'm looking forward to our trip. It appears we have 37 more days until we leave!

Inspired Blueprints Sketch #21: {Out-side}

I used Coordinates Collections' May 2009 Soda Pop kit to create the layout. I created this scrapbook page for a challenge from Coordinates Collections. Challenge #1 focused on everything May is...one of the choices stated it was National Bike Month. Beginning in April, we have started riding bikes and Roland has also started rollerblading. Jakob has been using Roland's old Star Wars bicycle with training wheels and really enjoys it. Sometimes he gets concerned about going too fast, but usually he does pretty well. The picture of Jeff and Jakob was taken while we stopped waiting for a car to pass. The layout is designed using Sketch #21 from Inspired Blueprints.

May Over the Rainbow Cyber Crop Challenge #2: Three Generations Water Skiing

I finished my third challenge for Coordinates Collections May Cyber Crop. This layout was designed for challenge #2. The requirements were to have at least 1 black & white or sepia photograph and 1 color photograph. I decided to use water skiing photographs I have of my husbands' grandfather, father, and brother water skiing in 1992 and in 2006. All three of them were up at the same time and is just too cool! I learned how to water ski because of all of their help. I am really happy with how this layout came out. The layout is designed using Sketch #51 from Creative Scrappers. Overall, I was able to finish 3 out of the 6 layouts this weekend. If I hadn't gotten in the mood to make cards last night, I probably would have had 4 layouts completed. However, the cards are gorgeous and they will get used as well in the future!

May Over the Rainbow Cyber Crop Challenge #4: Gifts

I finished my second challenge for Coordinates Collections May Cyber Crop. This layout was designed for challenge #4. The requirements were to have all the colors of the rainbow in the layout. This was harder than I had expected as I had troubles with adding purple and yellow into the layout. However, I think it came out okay. The layout is designed using Sketch #11 from The Scrappiest.

Journaling: We had Christmas in Abilene, Texas on 12/26/2008 and opened...gifts!

Supplies: SEI Glitzmas patterned paper and stickers, ribbon, flowers, misc. buttons

May Over the Rainbow Cyber Crop Challenge #1: My Boy

Coordinates Collections is hosting another cyber crop this weekend. These pictures of Jakob are from 2007, only 2 years old! He was eating a bagel before going to school. For challenge #1, the requirements were to have 2 pictures, red, and bling in the layout. All of challenges are centered around the Wizard of Oz! The layout is designed using Sketch #82 from Got Sketch?.

Journaling: Jakob took this picture while eating a bagel before going to school on 4-7-07.

Supplies: Cardstock - Pink Cardstock, Patterned Paper - My Minds Eye & 3 Bugs in a Rug, Sticker - 3 Bugs in a Rug (Flowers are cut from My Minds Eye patterned paper).

May 4th: Target, Kroger, & Wal-Mart

I headed to Target after dropping Jakob off to school. I was unable to take a picture of everything today from Target since some of it needed to be put away and some was left in the car for another load to bring up the 3 flights of stairs! From Target, I considered the above picture the best of products for price with coupons and savings! However, with coupons today from Target I saved over $36 in coupons!! My bill went from $70 to $33!!

Schick Intuition $6.99 (Sale price week 5/3-5/9)
-$4.00 Coupon

Schick Quattro Replacement Blades $8.27 (Sale price week 5/3-5/9)
-$4.00 Coupon

-$0.50 Coupon

Total After Store Savings: $69.71
Total Spent: $33.30
Total Saved: $36.41 or 52%

***************************

My next stop was Kroger. I had to come home first and gather the coupons. We did not need much from Kroger and mainly went to get the specials. Healthy Choice and Marie Callendar's dinners were a great buy! No picture from Kroger today because by the time I got home, everything needed to go into the fridge or freezer quickly!

My last stop today was Wal-Mart. I really wanted to go in and get out really fast since I still had the Kroger groceries in the car. Since I was rushing, I forgot to grab yogurt for Jeff and one other item. Oh well, it did keep me to only going in there for the few things I really needed. My main item I needed was All laundry detergent and was shocked I would have spent less for it at Kroger! Kroger had it marked $4.82 which I figured was high since I was used to seeing it around $4.00. Turns out, Wal-Mart had it for $4.97. Oh well...still doing well today!
