Happy!

This picture is so fun to me because Jakob was so excited and loved riding on the big white bus from Children's Courtyard when he was 4 years old.

Journaling: Beginning on 8/24/09, Jakob attended Lillie J. Jackson Monday-Thursday for speech.  His teacher's name was Mrs. Smith.  He absolutely loved going each day!  Jakob talked about how he went to 3 schools!  I dropped him off at the school aged building where he was bussed to/from.  Funniest part was he called it the "white" school because the outside of the school was white!  He went tot he school until we moved to our new house on 12/7/09.

Christmas Scrapbook Layouts

The last time I was able to scrapbook was during February during our snow week!  We are down to five more weeks of school and things are starting to slow a little.  I had been wanting to scrap a little and was able to get a few things accomplished.

The pictures are from Christmas in Abilene, TX with Jeff's parents.  Their tree is always so pretty and it spins on a base!  Jakob had gotten too big for his other bike and received a bike for Christmas from Lana and Gregg.  Here is a layout I created using paper from a Coordinates Collections kit and it was inspired using Sketchy Thursday's 4/28 sketch.

We moved into our new home on Wednesday, December 7, 2009.  It was an extremely busy time period with unpacking and buying presents.  The boys were pleasantly surprised with their Christmas gifts.  This layout was inspired using Liz's sketch #117 over at The Scrappiest and paper from a Coordinates Collections kit.

Scrapbooking on Snow Days

We have had an interesting week with the weather.  We received an ice/sleet/snow mix Monday night/early Tuesday morning (2/1/11.)  School was canceled ahead of time Monday night due to the forecast.  High temperatures were set for low 20s and wind chill factors in the single digits and teens!  The temperature has stayed in the low 20s and the ice is not melting!  My school district was closed on Tuesday through Friday due to the weather.  We received about six inches of snow on Friday to add to the previous ice/snow already on the ground!  While at home on our snow week, I pulled out my scrapbook paper and supplies and made some layouts!

Jakob's 4th birthday party was at Going Bonkers with his friends. Jakob had such a great time with his friends and playing.  One of the neatest things at Jakob's 3rd and 4th birthday party was getting all of the kids together for a group picture.  Out of all of the pictures, these are always my favorite!

Jakob and I went to the Fort Worth Zoo in March 2009 with Roland and friends.  I was actually able to get some cute pictures of the two of us together!  He was still terrified of carousels last year, hints the facial expression!

Scrap It With a Song's Weekly Challenge - So Happy Together

This was the first time I actually wake boarded while we were at Lake Brownwood with Jeff's parents.  I was so happy since I had tried previous years and was unsuccessful!  I decided to wakeboard before water skiing since I thought I would have more energy and it worked! I was up after a few tries and did pretty good.  No jumps like Daniel or Brett, but hey I did it!

I created the layout based on Sketch #73 from Liz over at The Scrappiest! Each week, I am amazed of her sketches!

The title came from a challenge over at Scrap It With a Song.  This week's song is So Happy Together by The Turtles.  While I listened to the song, the words So Happy continued to jump out at me and I knew which pictures to scrap!!

Who When Where

Only a few more pages and then all of the pictures I took and printed will be scrapbooked from the 2008 Fort Worth Zoo visit.  This layout displays a beautiful cheetah.  I created the layout using some of Coordinates Collections Jack kit and some from some paper I purchased at Target.  As mentioned before, I love using Liz's sketches at The Scrappiest!  They are always fun and inspiring!  Sketch #71 is her current sketch this week!  I rotated it the sketch to work my horizontal pictures into the sketch a little easier.

Zoo - 7.16.08

I created another zoo layout last night.  I used my Cricut cartridge to cut the Giraffe, circle, triangles, and the Zoo words.  It took me a few attempts to cut the giraffe.  I have never replaced my blade (I've had it for years!) on my Cricut and after cutting a few Giraffes, I decided it probably was time!  After I replaced the blade, the base of the giraffe cut beautifully with no tears or problems!  I used Animal Kingdom to cut the giraffe and word zoo.  The cartridge that came with my Cricut was George and Basic Shapes.  I love using this cartridge since it can cut all sorts of basic shapes.  I used it to cut the circle and the triangles.  The triangles actually were diamonds until I cut them in half!  I used The Scrappiest Sketch #62 for the layout.  I enjoy using her sketches, they are always fun and fit my scrapbooking styles!

Zoo Trip

I created this layout using Coordinates Collections Jack kit and some of my other random scraps.  It sure is hard to believe these pictures from almost two years old! My mom and I took the boys to the Fort Worth Zoo.  I used The Scrappiest Sketch #70 for the layout.

Jakob took these pictures at Children's Courtyard last year.  He was 4 years old.  I used Coordinates Collections April 2010 Showers Kit.  The flowers were from my stash and liked the way it seemed to draw your attention to the left picture!  I layout is based off of The Scrappiest Sketch #65.

4 - Four

I created this layout this evening using a picture with Jakob and his friend at McDonald's.  I thought both photos were so cute, especially the one where I got them to look at me from under the table!  It was such a different pose, I couldn't resist!! The paper I used is from Coordinates Collections March 2010 Charmed kit and the sketch is from The Scrappiest #56.

Time to Play

It has been a busy Spring Break!  I created this layout this afternoon from some older pictures of Jakob and his friend from 2008.  The scrapbook paper is from Coordinates Collections March 2010 Charmed kit.  I read The Scrappiest blog and she posted this sketch on her other blog, Your Scrapbook Stash.  It was a great sketch and fun to use for my fun pictures!

The Scrappiest Sketch #51: Swing & A Hit!

Wow, it is hard to believe how much Jakob has grown in the past two years!  He played BlastBall and Jeff coached his team for two seasons!  He is three years old in these pictures!  Interesting enough, Jakob tends to color and write with his right hand.  However, many times he batted left handed!  My dad does the same except in golf and I think he did in baseball too.  Jakob has not played baseball since Spring or Fall 2008.  I created the layout using The Scrappiest Sketch #51.  The chipboard stickers and green paper is from Coordinates Collections.  The remaining pieces were from my stash!

The Scrappiest Sketch #20: go speed racer

I created this layout for the Coordinates Collections Summer Camp #9.  The challenge was to create a layout using song lyrics in the title or journaling for 2 points.  These pictures are from a SWA event at Mountasia Family Fun Center last year.  Jakob and Jeff were on the go-karts together at the event in this layout.  The layout is designed using Sketch #20 from The Scrappiest!

The Scrappiest Sketch #17: Swim Practice

I created this layout for the Coordinates Collections Summer Camp Challenge #4. The challenge was to create a layout using stars and stripes in the layout for 2 points. I used the June 2009 Desert Serenade kit. The layout is designed using Sketch #17 from The Scrappiest!

These pictures are from Roland's swim lessons from last year. He was signed up for Level 3: Stroke Development. He did well last year and he agreed it was lots of work on some of the days. He begins Level 4 this upcoming summer.

The Scrappiest Sketch #15: Swim Lessons

I created this layout for the Coordinates Collections Summer Camp Challenge #3. The challenge was to create a layout based on water for 2 points. I used the June 2009 Desert Serenade kit. The layout is designed using Sketch #15 from The Scrappiest!

These pictures are from Jakob's swim lessons from last year. He was signed up for Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills. He did not do so well last year! Jakob wanted to play rather than learn the skills! However, he is scheduled again this year for the same lessons and has already started showing signs of improvement.

May Over the Rainbow Cyber Crop Challenge #4: Gifts

I finished my second challenge for Coordinates Collections May Cyber Crop. This layout was designed for challenge #4. The requirements were to have all the colors of the rainbow in the layout. This was harder than I had expected as I had troubles with adding purple and yellow into the layout. However, I think it came out okay. The layout is designed using Sketch #11 from The Scrappiest.

Journaling: We had Christmas in Abilene, Texas on 12/26/2008 and opened...gifts!

Supplies: SEI Glitzmas patterned paper and stickers, ribbon, flowers, misc. buttons

The Scrappiest Sketch #10: Splash

I created this layout using Coordinates Collections' March 2009 Sky kit. The layout is designed using Sketch #10 from The Scrappiest. Jakob was funny when riding the bumper boats. He liked them, but he thought they were a little loud! If you look in the top right picture, he has his hands covering his ears!
