Jump
November 2009, Jeff and I invested in a newer camera. We bought it on Black Friday and these pictures are some of the first I took to test it out after it had been charged! We were in Abilene, TX, visiting with Jeff's parents for Thanksgiving. Roland and Jakob were out back with Lana jumping on the trampoline. I remember being excited to take pictures where Roland was in mid-air and not have it blurry! Roland was almost 13 in these pictures and Jakob was 4 on 11/27/2009. Inspiration for the layout is from Sketchy Thursdays 6.9 Sketch. As noticed from my layout, I rotated the sketch to make it work for my horizontal pictures.

Sketchy Thursday 6.2 Winner!
This morning, I logged onto Sketchy Thursdays to see the new sketch for the week and as I scrolled down, I found out that I was the winner for last week's sketch! I was totally shocked and super excited! Sometime in June, I will receive The Sampler June Kit from Scrapbooking Supplies R Us! It will be fun to see what I can make using the kit and then I will post it on the blog! Check out my original post here.

Papa and me
This is a picture of my dad and Jakob at Christmas. It amazes me this is from 2009 and Jakob was not even fives year old yet (he's now almost 6 1/2)! My mom and I got them to sit still long enough to take this picture together! Inspiration is from Sketchy Thursday's 6.2 Sketch.

More Christmas 2009 Scrapbook Layouts
Here's another Christmas layout for 2009. We were opening presents in Killeen with my side of the family. Inspiration for the layout is from Sketchy Thursday 5-5. I'm hoping to finish a few more layouts this weekend to finish up my Christmas scrapbooking layouts for 2009.

Christmas Scrapbook Layouts
The last time I was able to scrapbook was during February during our snow week! We are down to five more weeks of school and things are starting to slow a little. I had been wanting to scrap a little and was able to get a few things accomplished.
The pictures are from Christmas in Abilene, TX with Jeff's parents. Their tree is always so pretty and it spins on a base! Jakob had gotten too big for his other bike and received a bike for Christmas from Lana and Gregg. Here is a layout I created using paper from a Coordinates Collections kit and it was inspired using Sketchy Thursday's 4/28 sketch.
We moved into our new home on Wednesday, December 7, 2009. It was an extremely busy time period with unpacking and buying presents. The boys were pleasantly surprised with their Christmas gifts. This layout was inspired using Liz's sketch #117 over at The Scrappiest and paper from a Coordinates Collections kit.

Scrapbooking on Snow Days
We have had an interesting week with the weather. We received an ice/sleet/snow mix Monday night/early Tuesday morning (2/1/11.) School was canceled ahead of time Monday night due to the forecast. High temperatures were set for low 20s and wind chill factors in the single digits and teens! The temperature has stayed in the low 20s and the ice is not melting! My school district was closed on Tuesday through Friday due to the weather. We received about six inches of snow on Friday to add to the previous ice/snow already on the ground! While at home on our snow week, I pulled out my scrapbook paper and supplies and made some layouts!

Winter Wonderland
This week's song challenge over at Scrap It With a Song is "Winter Wonderland" by Pat Boone. The lyrics are up on the blog. You can take whatever inspires you from this song, the words, the title or the overall theme of the song. Upload your creations onto the Scrap It With A Song blog by Sunday and you could be this week's winner. This week is sponsored by The Stamping Boutique. I used the Candy Land Winter Tag in my layout above from The Stamping Boutique.
We hit a record breaking snow fall in one day in the North Texas area! The official report was 11.2 inches at midnight and the previous snowfall in one day was 32 years ago with 7.8 inches in one day! However, according to the news, the snow continued to fall and at 4AM, there was 12.5 inches of snow on the ground! It sure has been fun to play in the snow!! We built a snowman, Jakob made a few snow angels, and threw snow at each other! I never expected to get this much snow in Texas, and it sure has been fun. It will be slowly melting today since the temperature is above freezing.

My inspiration for this layout comes from Sketchy Thursdays 11.4 sketch and paper from Coordinates Collections.

These Small BDay Wonders
This week's song challenge at Scrap It With a Song is Small Wonders by Rob Thomas. The song was played on the movie, Meet the Robinsons. I remember watching the movie and the first time not understanding it as much. However, that movie got funnier each time due to the time traveling within the movie! The lyrics are up on the blog. You can take whatever inspires you from this song, the words, the title or the overall theme of the song. Upload your creations onto the Scrap It With A Song blog by Sunday and you could be this week's winner.
I had a few pictures remaining from Jakob's 3rd birthday party I wanted to scrapbook. I wanted to capture a few of him opening his presents. The top right photo shows a small yukalaylee that he received from my brother. Randy was stationed in Hawaii when he visited for Jakob's 3rd birthday and he brought this for him. It's really neat and it has Hawaii on it too.
The layout was created using another great sketch from Sketchy Thursday to create my layout. I also used Coordinates Collections Alphabet Soup for the pages.

Christmas '08
I created this Christmas layout using Sketchy Thursday's 7.1 sketch. These pictures are from Christmas in 2008. It was a really rough year during Christmas that year. As the journaling states, Jakob was the first to get sick. Then, I think I was next following with Jeff and Roland! I used my Cricut
cartridges in the layout. I used Cursive 101
for the title, Speaking of Winter
for the Christmas tree, and Doodlecharms
for the stockings. Most of the paper I used I have received from Coordinates Collections. It was not one of the regular kits, but a pack of paper from SEI focusing on Christmas colors. I really liked how the layout turned out. Since I was sick at Christmas, I did not take many pictures. I need to finish putting together the videos from our past Christmas visits.
