Evenflo Symphony 65 DLX All-In-One Convertible Car Seat - Lulu

Jeff and I purchased an additional car seat today at Babies 'R Us.  After much deliberation and consideration, we went with the Evenflo Symphony 65 DLX version.  It was originally $199.99 and we had a 20% coupon off which helped in the cost since it reduced the price by $40.00 before adding tax.  It is designed for rear facing, forward facing, and even a booster later.  We currently have an infant carrier that is designed for 5-35 lbs and two forward facing car seats from Jakob.  So hopefully, this will be one of the last ones we have to purchase.

Menu Plans 5/22-5/28

We are down to two more weeks of school!  It amazes me how fast the year seems to go.  I am also right at 31 weeks or almost 7 months pregnant.  Things are going great with the pregnancy and she is moving consistently, especially after I eat or drink something.  My doctor appointments are every two weeks now and think within the next month they will be weekly.

Sunday: Dining Out at Cici's Pizza
Monday: Spaghetti with Meat Sauce
Tuesday: Oven Baked Pecan-Crusted Chicken Fingers
Wednesday: BBQ Pork Chops, Scalloped Cheesy Potatoes, Ranch Style Beans
Thursday: Leftover Buffet
Friday: Hamburger Helper
Saturday: Block Party Event (Hamburgers/Hot Dogs)

I'm planning to adapt Emeril's Oven Baked Pecan-Crusted Chicken Fingers.  I'm not going to use the Creole seasoning, instead just some basic seasoning that I know my six year old will like and eat!

Saturday Morning

This has been a few rough days.  I mentioned Jakob broke his arm Thursday afternoon

Saturday morning, I logged in to check my scores for the high school math test I took three weeks ago and it shows I made the same exact score as I made the first time.  It was so annoying to see that even with additional studying that I made the same score!  I needed a minimum score of 240 and I made a 231 again.  However, it is a pretty tough test.  When I received my score after the first time I took it, I found the link displaying the averages for all of the state test on the website.  The average for the test is a 234, not even passing.

Our baby girl is due at the end of July.  Officially, I think my due date is July 26th.  Jakob's due date was January 27, 2005 and was not born until February 1st.  So I keep saying she will be born at the end not knowing if she will be on time, early, or late!

The hardest thing right now is accepting the idea of not having my contract renewed due to the state budgeting problem.  Yet I know there is some plan and everything happens for a reason.  Last week at church, the message was to Dare to Dream and Believe.  It was one of those messages that felt like the pastor was talking directly to you.  My mom says maybe for a little while, I am supposed to focus on the baby, family, and starting my Master's Degree.

Jeff and I have a few errands to make today and go to Kroger with the coupons I already have ready using Southern Savers to help me match up the ad and my coupons.  Later today, I plan to scrapbook and not worry about these last few days.  I already found a few online sketch challenges that I would like to do and submit.  Happy Saturday!

We're Having a Girl!!

I am now 21 weeks and 3 days.  Jeff and I had our sonogram yesterday and found out we are having a GIRL!  When the doctor stated we were having a girl, I actually joked about me wanting a girl and Jeff wanting a boy.  I asked if he was sure and he said he hasn't been wrong after the baby is over 14 weeks.  When we arrived home, I watched the dvd that we purchased of the sonogram and I could tell it was a girl based on one of many positions he captured.

Pregnancy - Fourth Month

Not much going on this month.  Most of the morning sickness is finished and doing pretty good.

15 Weeks:
  • We have had an interesting week with the weather.  We received an ice/sleet/snow mix Monday night/early Tuesday morning (2/1/11.)  School was canceled ahead of time Monday night due to the forecast.  High temperatures were set for low 20s and wind chill factors in the single digits and teens!  The temperature has stayed in the low 20s and the ice is not melting!
  • Rough couple of days on Saturday and Sunday.  Thinking about calling my doctor on Monday regarding medicine for the nausea.  I am really not sure what happened because I was doing pretty good overall once I started into my second trimester.
16 Weeks:
  • Another snow day on Wednesday, 2/9/11.  It is sure hard to believe we have used 5 snow days this year!

    Pregnancy - Third Month

I am a little behind on posting.  I'm almost at 15 weeks.  Since the 2nd Trimester has started, it has been much better too.

    9 Weeks - 12/23/10
    • Christmas Eve Day
    • Sure having up and downs.  Stomach is not acting friendly with me at all times.  Feel bloated and blah at different parts of the day.
    • Get hunger pains every few hours as if I hadn't had any food what so ever.
    • Enjoying taking naps while on Christmas vacation from school.
    10 Weeks - 12/30/10
    • New Year's Day - 1/1/11
    12 Weeks - 1/13/11
    • Returned to school almost two weeks ago and have done pretty well.  No major problems.
    • The past few days (1/14, 1/15) have been a little rough and hopefully things will get back to normal.  Sure was enjoying the morning sickness disappearing.
    • On Sunday, 1/16, I was watching television in the bedroom when I decided to get a snack.  I quickly found out that Jeff and Jakob were busy working on putting together the crib in the baby room!  So sweet!
    13 Weeks - 1/20/11
    • Routine checkup at doctors office on 1/20/11.

      Pregnancy

      4 Weeks - 11/18/10
      • I found I was pregnant on Saturday, 11/20/10.

      5 Weeks - 11/25/10
      • Thanksgiving - Thursday, 11/25/10.
      • I ate a salad at Texas Roadhouse on Friday evening and then a salad with dinner on Saturday.  Both evenings, after dinner I got really sick and did not keep it down.  Think the baby does not like salad!
      • Monday, 11/29/10 - First doctor appointment.  Estimated due date July 28, 2011.  The nurse practitioner recommended to continue taking prenatal vitamins from Target.  They took blood work and they will know if I have any deficiencies, such as iron.  Results from the blood test came back and everything was good.
      6 Weeks -
      • Morning sickness starting to get me in mornings primarily.  Drinking sprite to help keep stomach settled.  I am noticing I am starving every few hours again.
      • Many of my co-workers know I am pregnant now.  I attended a baby shower and at the end they were joking about how we needed another person to be pregnant so we could eat more cake.  I figured since I had a nice entrance I would go ahead and mention it!
      8 Weeks -
      • Tuesday, 12/21/10 - Follow up appointment with sonogram.
      • Baby Smith - 8 weeks 5 days. Picture is blurry, but our little "peanut" is in the center of the picture and heart is the dark small white circle. (My mom had a hard time and know it's hard to see...so look directly between and under the F and the P to see the baby.) :)
      • I am about "done" with this first trimester.  I am sure getting tired of the random morning sickness that hits me whenever.  I am also noticing that I am exhausted, but think partly due to my lack of sleep at night.  I wake up every few hours and need to use the restroom!
