Menu Plan Monday: Week of June 12, 2017

This week, I am determined to learn how to use my Instant Pot.  I have been looking up recipes to determine which blogs I like the most to give me ideas on cooking with it.  I really do not know why I have felt so intimidated by it, but I think it is just the process of learning what I want to attempt to cook in it.  Summer is a great time to practice!

Menu Plan Monday:

Week of June 12, 2017

Dinner Ideas this Week:
Starting back at the end of December, I started receiving meal kits from Hello Fresh.  I tend to get them monthly now based on the selection provided.  I love how our family can pick and choose the meals along with choosing when we receive them!  Try out Hello Fresh and get $40 off your first box!  They have different plans including a classic, vegetarian, and a family plan.  I love how you can choose the menu on the classic plan and select when you receive it. My next Hello Fresh arrives on Saturday, July 1st.

  • Creamy Dill Chicken with Roasted Potatoes and Green Beans
  • Kiwi Salsa and Steak Fajitas with Charred Bell Pepper, Onion, and Blistered Beans
  • Barbecue Pork Meatloaves with Creamy Red Cabbage Slaw and Sweet Potato Wedges

I am so excited to receive my second box from Hello Fresh!  The selection of food was primarily organic and extremely fresh!  The family and kids loved the recipes.  I love how you can preview the menus ahead of time and choose when you want to have it delivered.

  • Rapid Maple Balsamic Chicken with Sweet Potatoes and Broccoli

I created this upcoming week's menu plan primarily on what we currently had on hand in the house to help save on our grocery budget this week.

Menu Planning Monday: Week of November 7, 2016

I had a much better week on Weight Watchers last week since we had most of our dinner plans ready for the week.  I completely forgot I had planned turkey chili, so we are having leftovers tonight.  The Turkey Chili preps well ahead of time, so I'm planning on prepping it this evening and dumping it in the crock pot tomorrow morning!  We also went to ALDI again last Friday and picked up some more produce to work into our menu this week and next.

Monday, 11/7: Crock Pot Kid-Friendly Turkey Chili

Tuesday, 11/8: Hot Dogs, Chips, & Veggies
Wednesday, 11/9: Chicken Sandwiches, Roasted Red Potatoes, & Squash
Thursday, 11/10: Leftover Buffet
Friday, 11/11: Dining Out
Saturday, 11/12: Steaks, Crock Pot "Baked" Potatoes, Green Beans
Sunday, 11/13: Spaghetti w/Meat Sauce, French Bread from Bread Machine

Menu Planning Monday: Week of October 31, 2016

Last night, we had Chicken Enchilada Soup for dinner.  It is one of my favorites from Skinnytaste.  Her recipes are always delicious and low calorie which helps with healthy eating.  We stopped by ALDI this past Saturday to replenish our produce.  I was overall pretty happy with the selection and quality for $22.75!

Monday, 10/31: Hot Dogs, Chips, & Fruit
Tuesday, 11/1: Sausage with Potatoes & Peppers
Wednesday, 11/2: Dining Out
Thursday, 11/3: Chicken Sandwiches, Zucchini Tots, and Corn-on-the-Cob
Friday, 11/4: Leftover Buffet
Saturday, 11/5: Dining Out
Sunday, 11/6: Crock Pot Kid-Friendly Turkey Chili

I'm excited to get back on track on our menu planning.  It sure helps our overall budget and makes evenings so much easier when we are already tired.  I enjoy reading and getting ideas over at Menu Plan Monday at Orgjunkie too!

Smith Family Menu for August 6th-August 12th

Finished up our menu for this upcoming week and into next Monday which allows me time for random grocery shopping if needed for anything for next week's menu.  I'm most excited about that everything on this menu I had the ingredients for except cheese!  I ran out of cheese finally and stopped by Costco today to pick up more block cheese.  (Remember to purchase block cheese.  It will save you money and you will not have the preservatives on it.  The same size block cheese as the bag will actually get you double the amount of cheese.)

We are going to make these Turkey Stuffed Peppers from Skinnytaste tomorrow evening.  I would cook them tonight, but we really need to eat some of our leftovers and I have a sink full of dishes calling my name.  I have been ignoring chores today. :)
