Summer Learning: Week 1

I purchased  Summer Time Learning from Teacher Created Resources.  This series is designed to help parents prepare their children for the next school year while allowing them to enjoy their summer vacation! It focuses on an eight week schedule which focuses on Monday-Thursday that covers math, reading, and writing.  Friday activities are brain teasers.  Jakob really enjoys the stickers at the back of the book that he gets to put on a sand castle picture after we finish the pages for the day.

Jakob read the following books this past week.  We visited the Public Library and they were the ones Jakob found and wanted to check out.  He's reading better and better, but still needs to work on it.  Summer reading programs are going on and if he continues to read he will be rewarded from the library too!  We have more to finish this weekend before returning them to the library on Monday.

I also want him to continue writing.  This week, he wrote to Landon in Colorado.  My friend, Erica, and I used to always write back and forth to each other and we are working on getting them to do the same.  He wrote to Landon stating we went swimming and asked if he likes to swim.
