CVS & Walgreens Thanksgiving Specials!

I went to CVS and Walgreens Thursday afternoon after eating great turkey and food with family.  I had a hard time passing up the specials and getting everything pretty much free after getting the ECB or RR back.  I also purchased 2 Dove chocolates and 1 Twix candy bar with the specials, but they are not in the above picture.  I focused primarily on the free items and overall was quite proud of myself of making the trip using my GPS to get me to both stores!  Now it's time to check next week's ads to use my ECBs and RR!

November 8th: Walgreens

I lucked into NyQuil bottles that were 20% larger for the same advertised price.  Roland uses the Clearasil face wash and was a great deal with 2- $2.00 coupons and a B1G1.  I was a little disappointed that Walgreen's did not have the Christmas cups out and ended up buying a caramel for $0.33 to make all the coupons and RR work correctly.  Oh well, our medicine cabinet and bathroom supplies are stocked for much lower price than I would have done last year!

November 7th: Target

We did good at Target yesterday.  Target had a B3G1 free special along with Target coupons and Manufacturer coupons on Kellogg's cereal.  We spent about $6.50 for 8 boxes of cereal!!  I also picked up 2 binders for school since we are beginning our 3rd Six Week's tomorrow.  We had a few other random grocery items.  Target is also giving $0.05 off for every reusable bag you use instead of using plastic bags.  I took advantage of it and think it is a great incentive to remember my reusable bags.  I also had a $5.00 gift card from a return we made at the store.

I went to Kroger to purchase the weekly sale items.  I had a random assortment of items we needed, but did well with what was also on sale.  I went after school and took pictures of the items in my cart because I knew I would be tired by the time I got home.  It sure is a good thing I took the pictures then, because as soon as I got home, I put them all away and started grading more papers.  I have 2 rebates to submit from my shopping trip: $5.00 wyb 3 SC Johnson products and $5.00 wyb 7 Tombstone pizzas.

We had a Costco purchase at the end of the month to use some good coupons from them.  However, we have a few items to return due to getting a few other specials.  It has been interesting to me as I tracked this for the first time for an entire month on an excel spreadsheet.  My goal is to put back the money saved in the future after we move into our new home in December!  However, I am reminded we are able to put back more money in general toward our home because of how much money we save with coupons!!  THANK YOU SOUTHERN SAVERS!!
