Jakob is raising money for Jump Rope for Heart!!

I remember raising money for Jump Rope for Heart as a kid.  Jakob is now doing the same fundraiser and jump roping at school.

  • Each year nearly four times as many children die from congenital cardiovascular defects as from all forms of childhood cancers combined.
           -  About 36,000 children are born with a heart defect every year.
  • Childhood obesity has reached epidemic proportions and is now regarded as the No. 1 health concern among parents in the U.S., topping drug abuse and smoking.
           -  Today, nearly 1 in 3 American kids and teens are overweight or obese.
Your donation will help protect today’s and future generations of children from the struggles of heart disease and poor health.  With your support the American Heart Association is tackling the issues of congenital heart defects, poor nutrition and lack of physical activity by investing in research, professional and public education, and community service programs.

Thanks for helping save lives with the American Heart Association’s Jump Rope For Heart!

Activity Center (Download activities and worksheets for collecting boxtops!)

Today at school, I saw a piece of paper with Box Tops glued to it designed to purposely have them glued. This sparked my attention and I went online and found the same resources! I have been collecting Box Tops for a while now and wanted to find a way to get more involved and possibly students involved too. Their webpage has great resources including how much money schools have earned since 2002 and the past year. Overall, every little bit helps and this is one way we can all help local schools.
