Transitioning into Middle School

Jakob received his first report card from middle school this past Friday.  I was really proud of his grades since he did not receive real grades in elementary school.  Our district transitioned to standards based grading in the elementary schools and he earned 1, 2, and 3s for different concepts throughout the school year.  It has advantages and disadvantages, but what I loved the most was knowing what areas he needed to focus on since his report card in elementary was similar to friendly version of the TEKS.
