Menu Plans 8/21-8/27

The Savory Swiss Steak from Menus4Moms last week was really good!  Jeff said he wouldn't go out of his way to eat it all the time, but thought it was good.  He said I cooked it just right and the meat was tender and not dry!  Jakob liked the meat and ate it without complaints!  Roland was not liking he had to eat the sauce on top of the meat, but we all have to try new things.  I was surprised at how the carrots, celery, diced tomatoes, and onion cooked down -- it was so sweet and tasty!

I also cooked the Sesame Grilled Chicken and the Chicken Pepper Pasta.  Personally, I liked the Sesame Grilled Chicken.  It marinated most of the day and then Jeff cooked it in the oven for about thirty minutes at 350 degrees.  It was tender and juicy.  The leftovers were used for the Chicken Pepper Pasta recipe and it was okay.  Jakob thought it was Chicken Spaghetti which it had a similar creamy cheese taste.  I should have known Jeff would have been iffy on it since he's not much for cheese sauces on pasta at Olive Garden.

Here's the plans for this upcoming week.  Jakob starts the first grade on Monday morning!  I am teaching 8th grade math and algebra this year, but I return to school in a few more weeks once Ashlyn is a little older for school/daycare.

Tuesday: Dining Out
