World of Warcraft

Since school is winding down and I will have a little more free time on my hands, I decided I would play World of Warcraft with Jeff again. This is my primary character, Evaelyn. She is a level 50 Blood Elf Mage.

World of Warcraft update

I have been enjoying the break from all the homework. In between work and all the chores, I'm still playing World of Warcraft. My guild, The Templars, now has a webpage. Jeff was playing yesterday with signature creators and I found it interesting. I made the one below using Video Game Signature Generator.

Overall, Evaelyn is now a 27 Blood Elf Mage. Jeff and I play quite often together. His alt character, Darkhide is now a 48 Tauren Shaman. He helps me out when I need to do something that requires multiple players if I cannot form a group.

Over the weekend, Jeff helped someone in the guild and gave him 40 gold - a decent amount of money in the game. He did it to be nice but it backfired because the guy starting whining to both of us for help and wanted Jeff to run him through something. (Running through means having a really high level to make it easier, rather than just grouping with a big group of same levels...he wanted the easy way out.) Anyhow, this became annoying and we talked to the guild leaders and they spoke to him about it. You are not supposed to beg or bother/harass other guild members. Anyhow, so Saturday night (Jeff and Roland were at the Weird Al concert), the same character asked me if he could borrow some money because he wanted to buy something expensive. I did a screen shot showing the text and then spoke to the guild leaders the next day. We sent it over and as soon as they looked at the screen shot - he was kicked out of the guild. Later he accidentally was re-invited by someone (who didn't know the story) and was kicked right after! What irritated Jeff and me was Jeff had just given him 40 gold and then the character who was a level 40 asked me (a level 26 at the time) for money! Made interesting conversation over the weekend though!

Happy 4th of July Week

Luckily, there are only 2 more days remaining until Summer 1 is finished! Due to the 4th of July holiday, both of my teachers do not want to have to come back to school and have our finals on or due on Tuesday, July 3rd. I have done well in both of them and should finish with A's in both classes.

I have been busy working on school. I completed two text-set assignments in both classes. So you ask, what is a text set? The objective was to use a topic and then five 5 books, 1 video, 2 websites, and other resources relating to the topic. For my multi-cultural class, the topic was Individuality and it focused on being yourself. The other topic was more subject centered and focused on Weather. The differences between the two classes on the same project was one required a reflection of completing the assignment, the other required a lesson plan. Both will be useful in the future.

Normally for the July 4th holiday we go out to Lake Brownwood, but I'm not sure of the plans yet. I talked to Lana and Greg (my inlaws) and researched online and found Lake Brownwood was 3-7 feet over the spillway. Here are some pictures of the lake. The lake has been closed do to flood conditions. Portions of Thunderbird Bay (location where Greg and Lana's things are) are in that area, but are at higher ground. Lana said it is amazing to see how much the lake has risen because they were out in April and she said the lake was so low it would have been hard to get boats into the water. However, at this point we will go to Brady, TX on Saturday for a reunion of Lana's side of the family and then go from there.

I have also been playing more of World of Warcraft. I have really started to enjoy playing the game. The guild I joined had some problems and disbanded, but the members whom were liked grouped with another guild and re-invited me. I currently have Evaelyn (my main character) at level 22 on "The Templars" guild. This past weekend, I experimented selling things on the auction house. Majority of the items I put on the auction house sold which will give more in-game money to do more things later!

Jeff was on vacation this past week and I think he had a good week off. We didn't do anything major, but he was at the same point too - Use it or lose it. We did go out to eat a lot with him on vacation though, so I'm ready to get back in routine.

Roland is going to Abilene from that point until the next Saturday, July 14th. Jakob will join Roland the following Tuesday evening through Saturday, July 14th. He would have gone the entire week, but I felt odd paying the daycare $85 for Jakob not to attend when I could pay $97 for him to attend 2 days. Plus, he really enjoys going to school because they are constantly doing and making something! They made bird feeders, planted plants in baggies, made water shakers, and more this past week!

Such a long time since I have posted...

I haven't posted in a while, I know. I've been really busy with everything! I changed my layout yesterday...I was tired of blue, so I went with pink for a while. I'm sure I'll get tired of pink and change it to another layout later.

In the little free time I have had, I have worked on my World of Warcraft character. I really like this character and she is currently level 18. Tonight, I came pretty close to getting Evaelyn (my character) to 19, but decided I had better go to bed!

My mom harassed me today and told me I needed to convince some of my girlfriends to play the game. I told Erica about it tonight and she told me maybe after she finishes her Master's Degree! She is actually almost completed with her Bachelor's degree but was accepted into the program (recommendation from a teacher) to start her Masters. So that's really awesome. Congrats Erica!

Another character, Kandice, I created to play with Roland. The other character is a Blood Elf and looks more human than this character. I tend to play it more when Roland is over because we can play quests together.

Yesterday, I was invited to a guild. The names are always interesting for guilds, but you are only invited into them. I'm currently with the guild, The Untold Killers. It allows me to have other people to play with from time to time, but I will probably have to level my character before I really play with them. Most of the ones who play are higher than me, but there are officially 190 members to the guild...but when I have been online the average is between 8-12 people. Jeff is in a big guild, called Sonic Death Monkeys for his level 70 character.

New WoW Character - Evealyn

I created a new character on World of Warcraft recently. I was frustrated with the other one and so I figured I should explore the different characters of the game and see if there was one I'd like better. The other character, the paladin, I have leveled to 16. So, I created a Horde Blood Elf Mage. The great thing about this character is I can attack from a distance by using different spells! It has been great so far because i can kill things before they even get to me!

My new character

This past Sunday, Jeff and I bought the Burning Crusade World of Warcraft expansion pack for my computer. This allowed me to create a different type of character known as a blood elf. I like this character because I can heal myself during fights, which means I do not die as often! I currently have her at level 7. Jeff says he will level his other characters as I continue to get my characters higher so we can play together. The game has been kinda fun, nice to take a break from everything!

Happy Easter!

Hi Everyone and Happy Easter!

It sure was a busy week…

Monday night, Jeff and I both had to stay up to register for classes at UNT. Registration starts at 12:01 am of a specific day. I had 2 more classes to take in the summer before I begin my student teaching. Jeff found 2 classes he can take in the summer and then 3 for Fall 2007. If he is able to finish these, he'll be down to 2 classes remaining Spring 2008 and graduate May 2008 with me! YEAH!

Tuesday, we finished setting up all the new computers in the lab I work in. My boss got new computers for the lab that replace the old eMacs and we now have 25 new 17 inch iMacs. They are really nice. There is a program that will allow the Mac to run Windows in a window, or full screen. The other neat thing is how the size of the entire computer is the size of the monitor. However, the funny thing about getting these new computers are the mice. The old eMacs came with only a primary mouse button rather than having a primary and a right click. So it was confusing for people…so now these new ones came with a scroll in the mouse and a right-click and people are so excited. My boss laughed because we told him people would get a kick out of the mice and we were right!

Wednesday night, I made the decision Jakob was no longer staying at Alpha Christian Academy in Denton. I walked into Jakob’s classroom where a little boy was sitting in the corner facing the corner and was instructed to keep his head in the corner. Between this and MANY other recent problems, I had had enough. Thursday afternoon, I put together a letter to the daycare (after verifying with Children’s Courtyard) describing everything from that visit and explained my disappointment. I was at the point where I had problems with the Asst. Director and now a little with his current (and past teacher) that I was not as comfortable. So starting Monday, Jakob will begin attending Children's Courtyard in Lewisville. Its closer to home and the school prices are a little more expensive but they have lower student/teacher ratios. Jakob's new classroom is larger than his old classroom and has fewer students. We went and took the filled out and signed paperwork this morning and Jakob played for a good hour or so. He even joined in with the other kids when they played with finger painting. Based from the time I was there, it seemed like they do lots of things to keep the kids busy. The school focuses on positive things to get the children to do things rather than punishing them if they do something wrong. The classroom has cameras in the classroom which are set up to be able to view him playing. The great thing too since Jeff works for Gamestop, we received a 10% discount and when I'm out of school between semesters, I can drop Jakob down to 2 days a week for a lowered price.

Thursday, I had 2 tests between Chemistry and TX History. I went into to the Chemistry test thinking I knew the material and the way the test was written, I was sorta lost for part of it. However, we started taking the test and the instructor said, I am going to review next Tuesday and then if you want to retake the exam next Thursday, you can. I will probably retake the exam unless somehow I got extremely lucky and guessed right on some! (lol). Anyhow, I then had a bookquiz over a 150 pg book in TX History. I absolutely HATE the book quizzes he gives in those classes. The first book quiz was over Sam Houston and was 200 pages long…made a 68. This book quiz was about Mexican Americans in TX and I made a 64 and supposedly the average was around a 60%. This book was poorly written, dates would jump back and forth and then the quiz asked for a ton of different people in the book. However, as you are reading, its really hard to figure out what you should focus on as you’re reading since he doesn’t give any guidance toward them. These book quizzes currently are the only thing pulling my grade down from an A to a B. We have an actual test in that class on Tuesday, that I am still studying for. I will end up studying more for it tonight, tomorrow, and Tuesday morning! I deciphered my notes and colored coded and figured out which notes went to which essay.

We didn’t do anything major for Easter. It was really cold and Jeff was half and half today. He didn’t feel so good. This weather going up and down I don’t think helps! I figured next weekend when it is warmer, we would go outside and throw the plastic Easter eggs out and let Jakob go get them! It was warmer today than yesterday, but not warm enough for me to spend a lot of time outside! We didn’t get the snow you got in Central Texas. That would have been for some great pictures and I definitely would have fought the cold for 10-15 minutes to get some cute pictures of Easter eggs and Jakob together. But all we got were some isolated snow flurries that melted as soon as they hit anything.

I now have my own account for World of Warcraft. I have started too really like the game. I can log into and do a few quest and not spend too much time on it. It is nice to take a break from doing all of the routine things and just do nothing. I also saw a bunch of add-on packs to Sims 2, which I enjoy playing. However, I really don’t have time to do school and play 2 games. Only 1 game at a time! Lol. I created a new character and she’s a blood elf. I like her because she can re-heal herself during battle which is good…maybe I won’t die so often!

UNT Registration and World of Warcraft

After doing homework, I decided I would play some more of World of Warcraft. I did better than a previous night and didn't get killed as often! I am now at level 11. Here's the new picture of my character. I have some better gear and sword now! :)

World of Warcraft

Well, Jeff and I came to an agreement. We both know we need to do more things together so we agreed if I would play World of Warcraft, we would also go and do other things like bowling and possibly golfing. I looked into prices for different golf courses and even pondered bowling leagues. I found a place called Kiddin Around in Coppell that allows you to drop off your children, and is used to allow parents to get some time together. They are open late and it would cost about $6.50/hour. We may look into that or talk to a good friend of mine and see if she would want to babysit every now and then and pay her.

Overall, I created my character, Madyson, last night and she is called a Horde Undead Warrior. I played for about 2 hours last night and got her to level 5, which I was excited about. I laughed to Jeff because one of things I found as I killed monsters were different clothing items and told Jeff she looks like she's wearing a bra! He asked if I wanted a shirt for her, and I laughed and told him nah!
