Today, I took the Honda Pilot to Costco to get the tires rotated and balanced. While I waited I walked around the store. We needed a few items that we tend to purchase from Costco rather than Target. I attempt to be careful at Costco because the unit rate on the prices can be higher than the unit rate of the same item at Target or other stores. For instance, I do not purchase shampoo and conditioner from Costco because I can get it much less at CVS by rolling ECB.
Today I noticed they had Progresso Soups in an 8 pack. I had just purchased those at Target on sale with coupons. Costco's price was around $13. I purchased 8 cans of my choice at $1.49 each which is $11.92. Then used two coupons for $1.00/4 which brought the cost down to $9.92 before tax and my 5% savings from using a Target debit card.

Saturday Shopping at CVS, Costco, and Target
Jeff and I went to CVS, Costco, Target, and the public library today. This week's big purchase was replenishing our meat from Costco. We tend to buy the meat there for the quality and convenience. I also tried vanilla soy milk and thought it tasted fine so I figured I would try the Kirkland brand since it factors as $4.66/gallon. Unless the Silk soy milk is on sale with coupons, this will be cheaper. It appears we will end up going over our goal this weekend since we still need to run back to Target for a few odds and ends. However, I do not think we will be over much. So far, we are at $91.82.

Weekend Coupon Shopping at Costco and Target
Jeff, the kids, and I had a busy day weekend! On Saturday, we took Sierra to get a bath at PetSmart at 12:30PM. I had a $10 coupon for grooming and she really needed a good bath to get the excess hair off and clean her up overall. Sierra currently weighs 84.6 lbs and I think she cold use losing a few pounds as it warms up. I know it will be easier to walk her after it warms up and the time change occurs so it will be daylight longer.
After eating lunch at On the Border (we had a gift card from Christmas), we went to the scout store. Jeff has been helping out with the Cub Scouts and he has volunteered to lead the Wolf Pack next year when Jakob becomes a Wolf cub. We will go back later to get his uniform and other supplies.
I try to only go to Costco if we need a few items so we stick to the list as best as possible. The bill adds up so fast at Costco. Today, the total was $82.49. However, $50 of it was pet care related including dog food and dog bones. I have noticed buying the food is cheapest even with coupons because it last longer for the price and I rarely see coupons for Purina One dog food we purchase. We did pretty good at Target. We had something to return so it helped our cost for the week. We spent $62.94 after the gift card and a total of $145.43 overall for our weekend trip. Our goal is $100, but I think we did pretty good still since we had to buy dog food and formula! The dog food will last for a while and the formula should last 3-4 weeks. I have a few more coupon checks that will need to get used later in March before they expire and a few more coupons I successfully won on eBay tonight!

Almost the End of School
The weeks are going faster and faster! We are getting closer to the last day of school! We officially have 8 more days with students and only 9 more working days until summer! I purchased some boxes from Staples so I can begin packing my classroom. It appears I will be teaching math only next year, so another science teacher will be moving into my science classroom.
Last Sunday, Jakob enjoyed watching Star Wars movies with Jeff. I went to do some of the regular shopping with coupons to Kroger, CVS, and Costco. We decided to purchase the Food Saver Vacuum Sealer
at Costco and I have been pretty happy with it. Costco had a $30 coupon in their home-mailers.
On Monday, Jakob came home singing something using the words 'gluteus maximus'! He attends a class called "Stretch-N-Grow" at his preschool where he gets to exercise and learns about nutrition and the muscles! It was quite funny!
On Friday, Jakob came home today singing "If you're Happy and You Know It..." He really enjoys singing and seems to do well at it! I think he takes after Jeff on singing, since he's pretty good at it!
Over the weekend, I created 2 scrapbook pages focusing on Jakob. One layout consisted of Jakob's 4 year old school pictures in 2009 (Smile). The other layout was pictures of Jakob at Sonic enjoying the Free Root Beer float from June 2009 (These are the Moments). I have 2 cards almost finished and plan on finishing them this afternoon.
Jakob went to his fourth week of ice skating lessons on Saturday morning. He did okay and stayed off the wall while ice skating. However, he seemed to forget how to bend his knees on the ice!
Jeff and I took the boys swimming yesterday. It was our first time at the pool in our sub-division. It is really nice and believe it will come in handy this summer! It is walking distance and both boys enjoyed their time at the pool. I'm sure they could have stayed longer than an hour, but it was time to get ready for bed. It was pretty windy yesterday and the pool was still a little chilly to both Jeff and me. I need to start watching specials for pool toys to carry to-from! I still have not decided where to do the summer swimming lessons. Jakob is fearless in the water and really wants to swim. Roland does okay, but still does not like swimming on top of the water. He loves and does great playing and swimming under the water, but his practice is needed on freestyle strokes, etc.
Jeff and I did pretty good on our menu last week. We didn't have everything exactly on the days mentioned due to random things coming up, but ate most of what I had written down based on what we had in the house! I really have enjoyed using E-Mealz since it gives basic and easy recipes for planning purposes! I posted our menu for this week already.
