Ray Roberts State Park

On Saturday, February 27th, Jeff and I took the kids to Ray Roberts State Park for a day trip. We went to the Johnson Branch in Valley View, TX.  Our time was spent most of our time exploring the main 2.8 mile paved loop which allowed us time to check out the campsites also.

Ashlyn attempted to run as much as the loop as possible. She also really enjoyed the playground at the Juniper Cove. She told me this morning the next time we go that she wanted to play in the sand near the swimming area and the other playground with the big slide and swings. We did not stay at the playground in section because it was really wet and had puddles under the swings and slides. I realized after we were leaving and checking a rangers kit back in that many of that section was part of the area closed due to the high lake levels.

One of our goals for 2016 is to get outdoors more including these day trips and camping.
