Weekend Coupon Shopping at Costco and Target

Jeff, the kids, and I had a busy day weekend!  On Saturday, we took Sierra to get a bath at PetSmart at 12:30PM.  I had a $10 coupon for grooming and she really needed a good bath to get the excess hair off and clean her up overall.  Sierra currently weighs 84.6 lbs and I think she cold use losing a few pounds as it warms up.  I know it will be easier to walk her after it warms up and the time change occurs so it will be daylight longer.

After eating lunch at On the Border (we had a gift card from Christmas), we went to the scout store.  Jeff has been helping out with the Cub Scouts and he has volunteered to lead the Wolf Pack next year when Jakob becomes a Wolf cub.  We will go back later to get his uniform and other supplies.

I try to only go to Costco if we need a few items so we stick to the list as best as possible.  The bill adds up so fast at Costco.  Today, the total was $82.49.  However, $50 of it was pet care related including dog food and dog bones.  I have noticed buying the food is cheapest even with coupons because it last longer for the price and I rarely see coupons for Purina One dog food we purchase.  We did pretty good at Target.  We had something to return so it helped our cost for the week.  We spent $62.94 after the gift card and a total of $145.43 overall for our weekend trip.  Our goal is $100, but I think we did pretty good still since we had to buy dog food and formula!  The dog food will last for a while and the formula should last 3-4 weeks.  I have a few more coupon checks that will need to get used later in March before they expire and a few more coupons I successfully won on eBay tonight!

February Weight Loss and Exercise Goals

My goal for February is to walk, run, or use my elliptical for 26 miles!  It is my largest goal and I am close to meeting my goal.  I started losing weight after Ashlyn was 1 month old and really would like to get to my pre-pregnancy weight before I had Jakob. I am working on possibly 10 more pounds and know I can do it with the great support I have at school. I work with the best group of teachers working toward similar goals.

This past week, I have done at minimum ten minutes on the elliptical or on a treadmill.  I am amazed at how good I feel.  I thought I would be tired, but I have so much more energy from it.  I have done 8 miles this week and 18 miles for the month so far!  I had a pretty off week last week and was thinking I would not be able to make my goal.  I am so excited to report that it looks like I will meet my goal!  Yeah!!

Below is my before and after photo with my weights.  I am proud of my accomplishments and not embarrassed to post.  In high school I ranged 135 pounds and was what I thought bigger at the time because the other girls had not caught up to me.  That is what my mom reminded me at the age.  After high school, I ranged between 140-150 pounds.  When Jeff and I married, I was 150 pounds, so I am very proud.

It still amazes me to see how much I have lost in my face!  It will be so neat to post my final picture combined.  I know I will begin to plateau as I tone and build more muscle.  I know muscle weighs more and I am perfectly fine with all of that!  I want to be healthy and fit and really enjoying the exercise because of how good it feels.  The level of energy is amazing!  I hope you stay with me on my journey.  If you haven't already, come join me on MyFitnessPal!  I'm amazed of how simple and easy it is to use instead of paying for WeightWatchers.  Post your username as a comment and I will add you!

Target Shopping 2/19

Today we went to Target for our weekly supplies.  We spent a little more than regular since we needed a different humidifier for Ashlyn due to the other one breaking.  Ashlyn also needed formula so we picked up two containers for her.  I am thankful the Target we shop out is a little cheaper on formula compared to the other one nearby!  We also had some leftover money on our gift card from last week since we decided to take advantage and purchase the newer Dyson vacuum.  I am glad we went ahead and purchased the newer vacuum as I think Ashlyn is taking after Jeff with the allergies.  Overall, we spent 84.66 after the Similac coupon checks and remaining money on gift cards.  I was happy with this since we had a few larger items and still stayed under our weekly $100 goal.

Target Shopping 2/12 ~ New Vacuum and Sale Items w/Coupons

Jeff and I decided to purchase a new vacuum.  We bought our older Dyson vacuum when we still lived in The Colony before we sold that home and moved to Lewisville.  Our older Dyson was at least five years old and we decided we did not want to pass up the deal Target was running especially since we had extra coupons to add on top of their special!  Then Jeff called his parents and his dad said he would buy our other one from us since it still works.  Due to Jeff's allergies and my suspicion that Ashlyn is taking after him, I think updating the vacuum to make sure it is picking everything really good will help them both overall!
