Happy Halloween!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

We will all be going over to a friend's house this evening and all of our kiddos will be trick or treating together.  Jeff picked up a chocolate cake and a pumpkin pie to take over with us.  I am sure we will have a blast and the kids will too!

October 24th: CVS

In one of my emails, I had a link to print a FREE Chocolate. I also had a $3.00 ECB remaining so I purchased my mom's newspaper for the coupons.

October 20th: Kroger

I took advantage of the specials this past week at Kroger.  It was a late evening on Tuesday as I picked up all the sale items before Wednesday.  Jeff took Jakob to soccer practice while I scavenged the shelves for our items.  I purchased a variety of items including milk, butter, eggs, chips, beans, cake, chili, sausage, soup, rice, breakfast items, dessert, meat, shampoo, floss, dishwasher detergent, toilet paper, and paper towels!  I spent $69.04 and saved $64.43 or about 48% on my shopping trip!

About 6 more weeks!!

We have about 6 weeks before we close on our new home! We all visited our home this evening where they were busy working on painting and caulking.  Lighting was installed last weekend and sometime this week, the dirt was leveled and appears to be getting ready for landscaping (picture above is a few days old).  Between working and getting ready to move, I have had little time to scrapbook.  I have decided to attempt to pack my scrapbooking supplies this weekend.  Jeff and I will decide on movers this upcoming week to help us move the big stuff!

I really love the new Walgreens I have been visiting!!  It is near our new house we are building and the employees are super nice and sweet!  Originally, I only had a few things to pick up this week.  However, I checked the ad later in the week and realized I had overlooked many items!  I spent about $15 out of pocket, which is great since Jeff and I both have been taking the Zyrtec lately.

Comic Strip 10/18/09

I read this comic today and couldn't help but laugh!  It starts with the lady going to water plants.  Then on her way to water the plants, she stops to pick up toys and also hears the dryer.  Finally, the man ask what she is doing and she responds, "Watering Plants!"  I am sure we all can relate to this comic!!

October 17th: Walgreens

It has been an extremely busy week and I am just now going to Walgreen's for a few of their specials. I was unable to get the Unilever deals, but it just was not meant to be I guess. I went to 2 stores within our area and they were both out of part of what I needed for the deal. Instead, I kept to the 2 other deals I really wanted which focused on the Nyquil and Campbell's cooking soup. October 10th: Walgreens

Jeff, Jakob, and I went to see our home this morning.  We made a quick stop before getting lunch for the 1st transaction.  The boys headed to Sonic and I was planning to meet them after I completed the 2nd transaction, but Jakob was upset because he thought Jeff left me at Walgreens!  When I came out, they were waiting for me in front of Walgreens in the car.  After lunch, I went back in for my last and final transaction for the week.  When the total went from $37~ to $8.83, the lady behind me overheard me make my comment to the cashier.  I quickly told her about Southern Savers and completed my transaction.  After analyzing our spending in our budget account, I have decided to start tracking our overall spending categories in an excel file because even though I am saving on everything, our totals for September seem higher than I expected.

September 29th: Walgreens

This transaction was such a hassle, with their $5 off of $25 coupon. I went in on a Tuesday evening when everyone was tired, therefore that didn't help! I found out later from reading a few blogs, the coupon was supposed to be over $25 AFTER ALL coupons! I must have annoyed the manager on duty enough because he rang the coupon as a manufacturer coupon. In reality, I could have purchased all of the items in separate transactions and probably spent less out of pocket due to the amount with RR. Oh well, I spent $12.46 and received $13 back in RR!
