August 23rd: Kroger

I went shopping at Kroger last weekend and picked many of the specials during their "Mega Event".  I had a little of everything after finishing.  I was happy about restocking the pantry at a low price!

Mailbox Monday

I received a few things this past week for free. As shown, I received Mine magazine, Home Made Simple Coupon book, Vaseline (2 oz sample), and more feminine products! It is always so fun to receive free items in the mail!! I also received the Entertainment coupon book in the mail today, but it is not free. It was $25.00, but we use many coupons throughout the year to cover the cost.

Kohl's and Christopher & Banks

I received a 30% coupon from Kohl's in the mail and Jeff needed new shoes.  My mom also gave us a $10.00 Kohl's cash on Saturday.  Overall, Jeff needed a new pair of tennis shoes.  We went on Wednesday and he bought a pair on sale for $70 for $52.91 with tax.  I also went back and found 2 shirts with the Kohl's cash Saturday evening and spent $9.14 with tax.

I also went to Christopher and Banks on Friday afternoon.  I had received a $10 off any purchase in my email.  I figured I would purchase a shirt, but then also lucked out with a black skirt on sale for $9.99!   I looked at all of their new clothes and can't wait for some of them to clearance a little before I purchase them.  Overall, I was happy with my $15 purchase for a shirt and skirt!

August 16th: CVS

I quickly went to CVS this morning and bought the FREE school supplies.  I did excellent today since I actually paid $0.00 out of pocket for 2 composition notebooks, 2 packs of red pens, 2 packs of filler paper, and 2 plastic pencil/pen boxes!  I am really excited to have picked up all of the supplies this summer from CVS since majority of them are going to my classroom.

I went to CVS to purchase a few items.  I had a raincheck for the Softsoap and it was a moneymaker item due to the $2.00 coupon I had.  The Revlon makeup also was a moneymaker since I had a $1.00 coupon and CVS was offering an ECB at the same retail price!  The Airwick airfreshner was a great buy too!  It was on sale for $5.99 and I had a $6.00 coupon!  It was cheaper to purchase it this way than to buy a refill at the time being.  Jeff mentioned this was good because the other unit can go in our third bathroom in our new house!

Mailbox Monday

I received a few random things this past week. The two scrapbooking magazines are not free, but they are fun things in my mailbox. I always enjoy getting the Kroger mailer with all the coupons! I love how they personalize the coupons based on what you have purchased in the past. Wal-Mart sent me another Nivea sample with a coupon for $1.00/1. I also received the Splenda coffee flavors. Between these and the ones from last week, I am good to go! I have another 20% off coupon for Bed Bath & Beyond. I'm not sure if they will get used, but I always keep them in case. We also received an advertisement for Build-a-Bear that came with a coupon. I received a $10 coupon a while back, so maybe at the end of month I'll take Jakob for a new stuffed animal.

August 7th: Target

We went to Target for a few random things including the Smart One meals while I was able to use the $1.00/1 Target Coupons.  Jeff has really started liking the Smart Ones meals from Weight Watchers, and I love buying them with coupons and stockpiling!  We ended up buying 14 to match with the manufacturer coupons I had also.  Without coupons, the Smart Ones would have been $36.62 before tax.  I paid $17.62 or an average of $1.17 each for them!

We also had to purchase my 4 year old his new back pack for school.  He was so excited and picked out the Diego back pack  this year.  I was honestly surprised he did not pick another Transformer one.  He starts back to his school/daycare soon and he was a little disappointed to have to go back to school after spending the summer with me!  He really liked the lunch carriers, but he cannot take food to school yet and I reminded him next year when he starts Kindergarten, he will be able to have one!

August 4th: CVS

I went to the other CVS quickly to check on the Softsoap since Southern Savers showed the limit had been increased to a limit of 5 instead of 1 as advertised. The store was out, so I purchased the milk on sale and received the rain check for the Softsoap!

August 2nd: CVS

I went to CVS for the free items today. I brought Jakob this morning since Jeff went to get his hair cut. He will probably never go again as it was much more challenging! I picked up the school supplies and the Softsoap since it was a $1.00 money maker. Overall, I spent $0.53 out of pocket and saved 98% on today's purchases. Make sure to check out Southern Savers before heading out to the stores!
