This is a great book. I am reading it to an ESL Reading classroom and when we stop, they want to keep reading! I plan on saving this author! Personally, when reading it I had a hard time putting it down. It is a great historical fiction book to read.

Pink Sketch #30: The Wiggles

I created this layout using leftover pieces from Coordinates Collections' Puddles kit. It is based on sketch #30 from Pink Sketches. This was Jakob's first concert. He was 2 years old and it took him a little bit to warm up to the concert. However, about 20 minutes into the singing he was ready to dance too! We bought the Wiggles shirt before the concert and he ended up wanting to wear it during the show. We put it on top of his other shirt since it was bigger. When we finished the concert, it was a pretty big battle to get the original shirt off of him! I guess he thought we were trying to take away the new shirt!

Walgreens: April 26th

I had such the hassle at Walgreens today! I went in and did my first transaction to purchase the Listerine. They were 2/$8.00 with $3 RR. I paid the transaction and went to my car. I came back in and the lady said, "Did you forget something?" My second transaction was to purchase the Scurbbing Bubbles Starter kit. They are on sale this week for $13.99 with a $3 RR. I also had a $7/1 coupon. However, when they ran the item, I had the previous $3 RR and my $7/1 coupon. I was told I had to have the number of items for all the coupons. According to their rules, I needed a minimum of 2 items for the transaction since I had 2 manufactured coupons. Walgreens consideres their RR as a “Manufacture Coupon”. I told them I would be right back and would decide on what I wanted to buy since I had other coupons in the car. I ended up purchasing an extra pack of gum to make the transaction work. I ended up with a leftover $3 RR that I will need to try to use next week because they tend to expire within a week or two of their printing date.

I prefer shopping at CVS. They are so much nicer in the store. When their register system prints an ECB, you can turn around and use what you need to pay for the transaction. I can tell why I do not shop at Walgreens as often.

Overall, I did good still at Walgreens today.

The Scrappiest Sketch #9: SWA Little Hands on the Farm

I created this layout using Coordinates Collections' April 2009 "Puddles" kit. It is based on a sketch #9 from The Scrappiest. The journaling reads, "Little Hands on the Farm, State Fair of Texas, 10/13/08, swa." Jeff attended this event with Southwest Airlines. It was to teach children what life on the farm typically consisted of in an enjoyable manner.

Trip to California

Mom and I are planning a trip to California to see Randy and Nikki. In our early stages of planning, we know we will visit Disneyland and the San Diego Zoo. We know Roland and Jakob will love both of those! It appears we will go around the third week in June. I'm excited!

Mailbox Monday

Not as much stuff this past week in my mailbox. I received my first copy of CondeNest Traveler magazine. I also received my first copy of Mine magazine. The other item is the GoodNites sample with $2.00/1 coupon. They feel very different compared to Huggies Pull-ups! I requested their S-M size and it says the weight range is 38-65 lbs. My 4 year old is about 38-40 probably, but the GoodNites seem large still! I plan to hold onto these until he is a little bigger. The coupon is good though and does not expire until 3/31/2010.

Mailbox Monday

It sure is fun to receive free items in the mail! This past week, I received the Colorado travel guide with map, Kotex sample, Crest Advanced Seal, another Oriental Trading magazine, and a small sample of Nature Made B-Complex vitamins. The Crest Advanced Seal sample also came with a $10.00 coupon. Free samples in the mailbox are sure nicer than bills! However, most of my bills come electronically!!

Coordinates Collections April 2009 Card Sketch: A Friend and Hi

I created this card for my best friend, Erica, in Colorado. I primarily used leftover scraps from the Coordinates Collections' September 2007 "Hello Fall" kit. The circle embellishment is leftover also from their August 2008 "Vegetable Garden" kit. The vellum journaling is from Wal-Mart and says, "a friend is a present you give yourself". ~robert louis stevenson

I created this card for my grandmother. I primarily used leftover scraps from the Coordinates Collections' September 2007 "Hello Fall" kit. The alphabet stickers "HI" are Making Memories.
