Last Sunday of July
Last Monday, Jakob got bit at school, not once, but two times officially and one time almost on the back. The one that was attempted on his back was seen and accounted for but his two on his arms the teacher did not know they were there. Initially when I was picking him up, the teacher realized he had a bite on his right arm and we went to office to report it and she put together an incident report. As I was talking to one of his previous teachers (12-16 month room teacher) she noticed his other arm had a bite! I was like goodness! I went back in and showed Stephanie (current teacher) and she added it to the report. At this point I was upset because he had 2 bites on his arm that his teacher did not know were there and when she finished with the report I was like I’d like to add comments under “Parent Comments”. I told them that I understood that from time to time bites would happen but I was upset that between the classrooms he had been in during the day that either teacher did not notice or were not reporting the incident.
When I walked in Monday to pick Jakob up, Gage was just on another kid’s ear and Stephanie was pulling him off of him. I suspected he did the others and through talking to multiple people, looks like Gage was the culprit! J I have nothing really against Gage and I see its unfortunate he is going through that phase. I’m not sure but something happened Tuesday after Jakob was bitten and found out he was the one who bit Aurora on the cheek the previous week. So after Tuesday’s incident with the other kid, Gage was placed on suspension and if he continues the school will actually kick him out. There used to be another kid, Topher, which was a biter in Jakob’s 12-16 month room that I have not seen for a while so he’s either not there b/c of summer or because of the same problems.
Monday evening, Jeff and I ordered a DELL laptop at 30% off with a few other discounts! It should be here tomorrow as it shipped this past Thursday. I’m really excited about it and it should come in handy with some of my lecture classes to be able to take notes directly on it.
I also received test grades back for the first round of test I took about a week and half ago now. I made a 93% on my Geography Test 1, 98% on Business Calculus Test 1, and 100% on both quizzes from my lab for geography. I took a geography test this past Thursday and I think I did ok but not sure if I made an A. We started the material on Monday, finished on Wednesday, and took the test the past Thursday. This weekend, I started preparing for the next test by starting learning and writing the definitions on flashcards. I think that will help since majority of the definitions will be covered on the next test, and it should be easier knowing the topics that we will discuss.
I started reading 1st To Die by James Patterson today. I started it while we drove to meet Mom halfway in Hillsboro. I realized when looking at the USA top book sales that one of the books listed was actually the 4th of the series, so I decided to check out the 1st book of the series from the library first. Roland is spending the week with mom and dad and he was so excited to go! He brought his GameCube and TONS of games to play while there. I reminded him that they would do things outside of the house…but I think he’s excited to play games in general too! Lol
Jakob will be 18 months on Tuesday. Sure hard to believe! Next thing it’ll be Christmas and his birthday and he’ll be 2. Halloween should be fun this year with him all dressed up walking around. Jakob’s newest fascination is markers and crayons. The markers are the special kind, but those he likes to carry around and put them in something and take out of something. The crayons he enjoys coloring on paper!

Weekend shopping with Mom
After Super Target we went to Gatti Town. Gatti Town is like Chuck-E-Cheese or the Peter Piper Pizza we had growing up. You pay for a buffet and then buy tokens/gamecard and play the games after eating (at least we played after we ate!). We won a monkey out of a claw and grab machine for Jakob after a few trys! Jakob started feeling warm back on Friday and was getting Tylenol and at lunch at Gatti Town Jakob starting getting warm again.
When we got home, Jakob got medicine and took his nap and Jeff stayed home with him while Mom, Roland, and I went to PetSmart and the mall. wanderedred around the mall and did more shopping, Mom found some books, I found 2 shirts and a bookmark, Jakob and Roland got more clothes, and Roland got new shoes for school. We went to Outback for dinner, as Jeff said he was not hungry and not to worry and to go. We were going to bring him ribs home, but he said not to worry.
We all went to sleep around 11pm and around that time my throat started hurting a little. I think at 1am, I woke up and took NyQuil and then this morning went and got DayQuil. I took a good 2 ½ hour nap earlier and Jakob took a long 3-4 hour nap today. I told Jeff that if he's feeling bad still Monday, he would need to stay home but if he's still having a hard time, Tuesday I could go to my Tuesday 8am class lecture and then I have good friends in Math 10am class that would show me notes worse case. I think Jakob's problem are teeth related or a little of both. His back molars have been coming through or maybe it's other teeth.
Oh, and I looked up the USA Today's Bestsellers Paperbacks and the book I am reading The Lincoln Lawyer by Michael Connelly ranked 2nd last week based on sales. I thought that was fun. I picked it up at Kroger because it was on their Top 10 rack, and it has been a really good book! I was telling Mom how I was working on finding other authors and she said she uses these list to help her find the really good ones! I prefer to rotate around on the authors I read so the style of the books do not start to bore me.

Summer 1 Grades and Summer 2
Today started Summer 2. There is no break between Summer 1 and Summer 2. I have Earth Science from 8:00-9:50am, then Business Calculus from 10:00-11:50am Monday-Thursday. Then on Monday, I have my Earth Science lab from 12:30-4:20pm. Luckily, when we finish the labs, we can go and today we finished around 3:30pm. I'm think the Math class will be an easy course to coincide with more studying for Earth Science. I guess I will find out!

Jakob's Room - Painting Completed!!
Well, I finished painting Jakob's room Saturday afternoon and finished getting everything set back up this morning. I still have to hang his curtain and his pictures on the wall. I have 6 baby animal pictures (10x13) that were on the wall before painting, but I'd like to find 2 larger animal pictures (16x20??) and frame to put on his left and right wall and then use the smaller ones around those and next to the window. Jeff and I also found these animal decals at Target yesterday and they will either go around with the pictures or put them in the green border, but I haven't decided. Anyhow, it looks really good in there and I'm proud of how it turned out. Now Roland will have to think of ideas for his room!

Jakob's Room - End of Day 5

Today I finished the green border around the room and got the 1st set of closet doors put back together and reattached to the closet. I had problems with getting the other doors off so I put the 1st coat of white on his main door.
Jeff and I are going out to Outback and then will see the new Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Chest this evening. When we get home I will probably put on the 2nd coat of white paint on his door so it is ready tomorrow. Then the only thing left is to get those other closet doors off and get them painted and reset up his room!
Sometime in the future, if I find a good looking stencil/stamp with animals I may stencil/stamp that either inside/above the green border. Plus I have to make time to do Roland's room too! :)

Jakob's room - End of Day 2
Well, I have finished the 2nd coat of the darker blue on the wall and started the 1st coat of green for the back of the door. The goal for tomorrow after I finish with school for the day is to tape off the border that will go around the wall where the two blues meet and put the 2nd coat of green on the door.I also finished reading Deception Point by Dan Brown yesterday. Today I bought The Lincoln Lawyer by Michael Connelly and will probably start it tonight before I go to bed. I have gotten back into reading a little before bed to relax and calm down after a very exciting day!
