A great week!

Well, it is Saturday evening and today was nice with the rain. It made to be a nice goof off day, so Jakob and I watched the rain most of the day. This morning, Jakob and I went to Kroger shortly after Jeff left for work. The rain was in between us and had come to barely a drizzle at 8am. So I decided to throw on some sweats, and get there while it was slow and while Jakob was happy! We did really well at the store, I love my coupons, and the price started at $150 when he finished scanning everything. I had 2 really good coupons; one was for $12 off if you spend $120 and the other was $5 off if you spend $50. Well, I’m sure both coupons were not supposed to be used together, but the guy scanned them all in, so I was quite happy with that. With my other coupons, (Kroger does double/triple all the time) it brought the total price down from $150 to $115! I didn’t realize I had that many other good little coupons too!

Well, on Thursday, I bought a new book bag at Target. I noticed earlier in the week that my JanSport bag had a tear between the strap and the bag. The funny thing is that the bag is over 10 years old. Mom and I couldn’t remember exactly when we bought it, but it’s at least 10 years, but I think it’s older. I remember we bought the bag at Mervyn’s in Killeen Mall and when Mom said she would buy it, she said, now if we buy this bag, you can’t have a new one every year, you have to make it last because it’s much more expensive than the other bags. I think the bag cost $40-50 then…and it seems like I had it in middle school which puts the bag older than 10 years for sure. Oh well. I have a new bag that I found at Target with lots of good pockets and it’s all organized. It’s actually more comfortable and has more padding than my other bag. (I’m sure the JanSport had padding 10-15 years ago!)

I did well on my first round of test in school. My best exam was my Stats class, with a 99% on my first exam! YEAH! I made an 88% on my first Science test and with bonus points; I actually still have an average of 104%! I didn't do as good on my Geography test, made a 70%; average in there is currently an 82%. I took another Math test last Wednesday, and a Science lab test on Tuesday, and I think I did good on both of those. Hopefully, I’ll find out next week on those tests. But, I was thinking since this is the first time that I have gone to school full time, I am pretty happy with all A’s and 1 B.

I was playing with my schedule and it looks like I will be able to finish my classes at UNT Summer 2007 and start my student teaching (which I have to do before graduation) Fall 2007 and finish student teaching Spring 2008 and then would graduate with my Bachelor’s Degree May 2008! To get it all done, I will have to continue full time plus, but it’s exciting to see that my actual “main” classes will be finished by next summer! Plus by doing it this way, my student teaching lines up with the regular school schedule. With graduating in May, it’ll be a little easier finding a job starting August/September 2008. Perfect!

Oh, and Jakob is doing really good in his school. He has also gotten used to going and loves it! On Friday, he acted like he didn’t want to leave. He continued to play when I arrived and acted like he wasn’t ready to leave. He was too busy playing! He and another student were listed as student of the month for the February newsletter for doing so well adjusting to the new schedule and listening so well. It was cute to read the newsletter and read about some of the older grades. He has started walking really good. He still loses his balance every now and then, but does pretty good most of the time. He started clapping about two weeks ago and has copied his friend, Kaden, in regards to making the Indian sound using your mouth. It’s amazing how much he has learned the past month at school.

Well, I think I’ll go take a nice hot bath and relax a bit. I have finished my goals today for school. I have part of term paper to work on tomorrow, but other than that, I finished reading chapters and other to-do’s during the week. Made it nice, I can relax some since I did so good during the week.

Rhapsody of the Seas

Well, it's not official yet, but Jeff and I are talking about going on a cruise in May. We have been back and forth what we wanted to do this year as a vacation, and we found a really decent price for an upcoming 7-day cruise with Royal Caribbean. It would depart on Sunday, May 14th at 5pm from Galveston, TX. It's funny because my last final for UNT is on Friday, May 12th. First stop is in Ocho Rios, Jamaica on Wednesday, May 17th. The next stop is in George Town, Grand Cayman on May 18th. And finally, the last stop is in Cozumel, Mexico before coming back to Galveston, TX. Our friends, David and Dezi went on this same cruise a year ago after their wedding for their honeymoon and loved it. I didn't realize it was the exact same ship and trip until earlier when I called David to ask him a question. Anyhow, we are currently waiting to see if Jeff can get that week off, shouldn't be a problem. We have already cleared it with my mom to watch Jakob for the week!

Well, the cruise was booked on February 17th around 9am! YEAH! It'll be so much fun!

Early Valentine's Dinner

Jeff, Jakob, and I went to Outback in Frisco this evening. Jeff mentioned at first he didn't want to spend that much money, and it dawned on me that the last time we went to Outback was on our anniversary 6 months ago! So at that point, I decided we were going! The dinner was great and we got to Outback at about 5pm and had no wait what so ever! I had the Outback Special, Jeff ate the ribs, and Jakob actually ate really good! He had chicken strips, a few french frys, and bread. He tried the onion and quickly spit that back out of his mouth! Overall, it was a nice evening. Now it's time to get back to reading over my Science notes.

New toys!

Well, as of Thursday, Jeff and I got new phones! We had our previous Nokia phones for 2-3 years and it was time for an upgrade. We decided to go with the Motorola RAZR phone. Our contract with AT&T/Cingular was no longer in contract, so we decided to shop around. With Valentine's Day around the corner, T-Mobile was offering a Buy 1 Get 1 Free on their Motorola RAZR phone with new activation and it was for a Magenta and Silver phone which was what we wanted. Or atleast, I wanted the Magenta phone. We also went with the new wireless bluetooth headsets. New toys are always so much fun!

Lots of birthdays!

I just wanted to wish Erica and my mom a Happy Birthday! Erica's birthday was on February 9th and my mom's birthday is today! Happy Birthday!

Geography Class and other classes

Today in Geography, the teacher passed back our introductions that we had submitted for check for our term paper. He was disappointed with many introductions because many people wrote in first person and used contractions. I was honestly surprised that so many people did that because in one of my college level English classes, we were taught that you do not do either of those two things! Overall, you tend to write a formal paper much different than how you might say something to a friend. Well, anyhow, as he was going on and on, he said I have one here that I really liked. He then started off by reading the first two sentences of MY paper! I was so impressed that out of the students (52 to be exact for our class...he mentioned that as he lectured!) that he really liked mine! Maybe he'll remember my name and keep that in memory! :) He also made the comment about how he has many papers to read and grade at the end of the semester. He said, "You better give me something I am going to want to read...I have many papers to read!"

We also took a map quiz over the United States and Canada that I know I aced! It was so easy, but I studied quite heavily for not knowing how intense it would be! There was even a bonus question for an extra 4 points that I know was correct, so I should get 54 points out of 50 points on that test. Nice way to start my first grade in that class.

I have only received grades in the Teaching Math class and my Science lab. I have all 100% in that math class and I received a 105% for my lab 1 because the teacher was impressed with the detail of my answer. I was the only one to recieve that high of a grade in my class for that particular lab.

Next week will be challenging. I have 3 test scheduled on Wednesday, February 15th. I have a Geography midterm, Science, and then a Statistics test! Then the following week after that I have a Science lab test and a test for the Teaching Math class. The nice thing is the two math classes are a breeze, and not as much studying time is needed compared to Science and Geography.

Anyhow, enough goofing off time has gone by. Must do something productive.
